Approval Granted for the 'Krebsenbach' Residential Development in Fürstenfeldbruck

Periskop Development, one of Germany's leading companies in forward-thinking neighborhood development, has announced that the Planning and Construction Committee approved the resolution for the "Krebsenbach" development on May 14, 2025. The committee expressed its strong support for the proposed residential project with a clear majority. This milestone in the land-use planning process will now be followed by the next step: renewed public consultation and involvement of public authorities.
Jochen Füge, urban planner (AKNW) and founder of ISR – Innovative Urban and Regional Planning, commented:
"The approval of the design and the initiation of formal participation in accordance with Sections 3(2) and 4(2) of the Federal Building Code (BauGB) represent another significant milestone on the path to realizing a groundbreaking, dialogue-driven urban development plan. This project embodies high urban planning quality, social inclusivity, climate-conscious measures, and traffic alleviation."
The approximately 4-hectare site on the outskirts of Munich is primarily designated for residential use. Over 95% of the planned gross floor area (GFA) of 26,139 m² is allocated for multi-family housing with apartment sizes tailored to meet the needs of various user groups, including subsidized and cooperative housing. Additionally, the project includes row houses, duplexes, and accommodations for seniors and multi-generational living.
Markus Hofmann, Project Manager at Periskop Development, stated:
"Our goal is not only to address the urgent need for housing in the Munich metropolitan region but also to create a thoughtfully designed concept that considers all age groups and provides livable spaces for all generations."
The development plan includes a daycare center and ample recreational spaces. A former agricultural area will be transformed into a central green corridor within the neighborhood, offering future residents and neighbors a space for active use and relaxation.
The site is also conveniently located with excellent transport connections. In addition to direct access to the federal highway, the nearby S-Bahn and regional train station is within walking distance, enabling residents to reach Munich's city center in just 20 minutes.
