Periskop Development Signs Agreement with Laborgh Investment

Two companies from the portfolio of an institutional mandate managed by Periskop Development have signed a cooperation agreement with Berlin-based Laborgh Investment GmbH. The joint aim is to address the housing shortage in the metropolitan region through an early and collaborative development process.

The plan calls for a contemporary, sustainable neighborhood in the Karow district of Berlin-Pankow, featuring social infrastructure such as a daycare center and integrating sensitively into the existing urban fabric. A key focus is the substantial improvement of public transport connections: in particular, the planned transit hub at the future Turmbahnhof Karower Kreuz will significantly strengthen links to Berlin’s city center and the surrounding Brandenburg region. The concept also prioritizes pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly access as well as short internal routes.

“We deliberately pursue early, cooperative partnerships—because that’s how projects gain momentum,” says Dr. Simon Kempf, Managing Partner of Periskop Development GmbH. “Our goal is a sustainable neighborhood that blends into its surroundings and benefits from markedly enhanced public-transport connections.”
“As an experienced developer, we contribute our expertise in creating mixed-use districts and repositioning complex sites,” adds Florian Lanz, Managing Director of Laborgh Investment GmbH. “Karow offers the opportunity to combine housing, social infrastructure, and new mobility options into a sustainable, future-ready community.”

The “Strasse 52” (“An der Laake”) site covers approximately 103,810 sqm and borders the Laake stream to the south. The “Strasse 33” property in Karow-South comprises about 70,514 sqm. Both locations are well suited for a green, resource-efficient neighborhood with dedicated social infrastructure and strong public-transport links.

The capital invested comes primarily from German pension funds, retirement schemes, and insurance companies—thus supporting the long-term retirement security of a broad workforce.
