Jörg Steinbach Joins Periskop Partners AG as Senior Advisor

Periskop Partners AG is delighted to welcome former Brandenburg Minister for Economic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach, as its new Senior Advisor. In this role, he will provide strategic guidance to the management team, particularly on matters at the intersection of economic policy, regional development, industrial investment, and real estate ventures.

Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach brings decades of experience spanning academia, industry, and politics. After earning his degree in chemistry and completing a doctorate at the Technical University of Berlin, he held roles at Schering AG and went on to occupy numerous leadership positions in higher education, including serving as President of both the Technical University of Berlin and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.

From 2018 to the end of 2024, the Berlin-born Prof. Dr. Jörg Steinbach served as Brandenburg's Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor, and Energy in the SPD-led cabinets of Woidke II and Woidke III. During this time, he played a key role in shaping the state’s economic and industrial policies, with a strong focus on business development, sustainable energy supply, and structural transformation.

Steinbach prioritized close collaboration between industry, academia, and public institutions to create new jobs and establish sustainable economic structures for the long term. Among the highlights of his tenure are the establishment of the Tesla Gigafactory in Grünheide and the landmark “Lausitz 2038” structural program, which actively drives economic transformation in the lignite coal region.
