Periskop Development announces the successful sale of a 34,500 m² plot within the "Königspark" project in Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, to the Federal Agency for Real Estate (BImA). BImA plans to establish a Training Center (ETZ) for customs operations at the site. This initiative is part of a nationwide program to develop identical training centers at eleven locations across Germany.
Periskop Development is transforming the approximately 56-hectare site, located southeast of Berlin, into a forward-looking, urban mixed-use district on behalf of the property owners. The customs facility will be situated within the "productive district" of the area under existing building regulations.
Dr. Simon Kempf, Managing Director of Periskop Development:
"The establishment of the customs facility is a significant milestone for the district. It serves as the catalyst for the entire project."
Petra Müller, Head of Development at Periskop Development, emphasizes:
"We extend our heartfelt thanks to the citizens, local policymakers, and the city administration for their dedicated and constructive collaboration. A special thank you goes to Mayor Michaela Wiezorek, who has supported the project with openness and encouragement from the very beginning. With this successful sale, we are thrilled to contribute visibly to the positive development of Königs Wusterhausen and to give something back to the community."
Training Center for the General Customs Directorate in Timber Hybrid Construction
The Federal Agency for Real Estate (BImA) is developing a modern customs operational and training center (ETZ) for the Berlin-Brandenburg region on the site. The facilities will include an operational training building, an indoor shooting range, and a dual-field sports hall, all designed to provide optimal training conditions for customs personnel. As part of a nationwide construction program, BImA is currently building similar centers at eleven locations using timber hybrid construction, with a strong focus on sustainability and climate protection.
Königs Wusterhausen: A Growth Hub Southeast of Berlin
The project site is located in the so-called "Southeast Boom Corridor," one of the most dynamic development regions in Berlin's surrounding areas. Its proximity to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), Tesla's factory in Grünheide, and science and technology hubs in southern Berlin positions Königs Wusterhausen as a promising location for future growth. Excellent transport connections—including the A10 motorway, Federal Highway B179, and access to the S-Bahn and regional rail network—provide ideal conditions for sustainable development.
The legal aspects of the sale were handled by the law firm lindenpartners.
